Puzzles are one of the most popular toys for children of all ages. They are inexpensive, easy to store, and keep kids occupied for hours. Did you know that many puzzles are not recyclable? Most of the pieces on these puzzles are made of paperboard which is hard to recycle because they break easily and can’t be separated. But, there is good news! There are still some puzzles out there that use eco-friendly materials like cardboard or recycled plastic so you can feel good about your purchase.
Can You Recycle a Jigsaw Puzzle?
Jigsaw puzzles are indeed recyclable – they can be sorted out by color and put into recycling bins. They can be reused as long as they’re in good condition.
The most important thing is to discard jigsaw puzzles by breaking them apart. This will allow you to reuse the pieces for a new puzzle. If you have a small number of pieces, it might be easier to recycle them as scrap paper.
