How Long Does a 2000-Piece Puzzle Take?
By the Daily Jigsaw Team · Thursday, June 25, 2026
A 2000-piece jigsaw is a proper project — usually 12 to 25+ hours spread across several sessions. It's the kind of puzzle you live with for a week.
What to expect
- Experienced solver: 10–18 hours
- Average solver: 15–25 hours
- Tough image (sky, sea, repetition): 25+ hours
Because difficulty grows faster than the piece count, a 2000-piece puzzle is far more than twice the work of 1000.
Tips for finishing the big ones
- Sort ruthlessly first — edges, then colour groups. The sort is half the battle.
- Work in short regular sessions rather than one marathon.
- Bring help. A 2000-piece board flies when you play together on one shared screen.
Not ready for 2000? 1500 pieces is a great step up from 1000.
