Jigsaw Puzzles for Eye-Hand Coordination
By the Daily Jigsaw Team · Tuesday, June 23, 2026
Every time you spot a piece and guide it precisely into place, you're training eye-hand coordination — the link between what you see and how your hands respond.
What it develops
- Fine motor control — picking up, rotating and placing pieces accurately.
- Visual tracking — scanning a pile and locating the right shape.
- Spatial judgement — matching a piece to a gap before you move it.
These are foundational skills for children (see puzzles for kids and toddlers) and a gentle way for adults to keep them sharp.
How to practise online
Drag-and-drop on a screen exercises the same coordination. Start easy with 100 pieces and increase the challenge as it gets comfortable. Turning on rotation adds an extra coordination twist.
